About The Event

Join us for a rare 16mm presentation of renowned independent animator Bill Plympton's (@plymptoons) surreal hand-drawn musical extravaganza, THE TUNE (1992). This self-funded project was the first feature length work for the prolific Mr. Plympton and a breakthrough success following his popular 'Plymptoon' short films which had shown at festivals and aired uncredited on MTV's Liquid Television. Featuring a series of memorably catchy songs by collaborator Maureen McElheron, THE TUNE combines Plympton's iconic coloured pencil illustrations with his signature wry wit & humour depicting the madcap odyssey of songwriter chasing the perfect tune.

Be sure to obsess over a clever question during screening because Plympton himself will be joining us over video for a live Q&A session following the films!
