Join us on Saturday Afternoons from 1-4pm on October 26, November 2 and 9 for our Drawing Elements course for an in-depth exploration of the formal elements of drawing such as line, value, gesture, space and composition., taught by Awadh Baryoum.

About The Event

In this program students will expand their drawing skills with an in-depth exploration of the formal elements of drawing such as line, value, gesture, space and composition. The format for this class will allow for a more independent approach to experimental drawing that will encourage expressiveness and creativity. Students will be working from a variety of materials including still life and live subjects.

Saturday Afternoons from 1-4pm

October 26, November 2 and 9

Location: Cocker Fulton Studio

$140 + materials

Maximum of 10 students

Materials:

-          Graphite pencils: HB, 2B, 4B, 8B

-          Kneadable eraser

-          Gum eraser

-          Drawing pad, 24”x 18”

-          Newsprint pad, 24”x18”

*Students will be required to bring a drawing pad, graphite pencils and/or charcoal the first week. Materials for subsequent classes will be identified by the approach and interest of the student.

About the Instructor:

Awadh Baryoum, an Ethiopian-born Canadian artist, was raised and educated through university in Aden, Yemen. He holds an MFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design in the United States. Baryoum is a recipient of a Fulbright scholarship and a research grant from the Canada Council for the Arts. His works have been widely exhibited in the United States.

Parking can be found at lots behind the London Music Hall, on Clarence Street, at Covent Garden Market, or at Citi Plaza. Street parking may be available. Please note parking rates may change dependent on lot.
