‘night, Mother

Pacheco Theatre presents:

‘night, Mother

by Marsha Norman

October 24 – November 3, 2018

‘night, Mother — winner of the 1983 Pulitzer Prize for Drama — is about a daughter, Jessie, and her mother, Thelma. Jessie calmly tells her Mama that by morning she will be dead, as she plans to die of suicide that very evening. The subsequent dialogue between Jessie and Mama slowly reveals her reasons for her decision, her life with Mama, and how thoroughly she has planned her own death.

‘night, Mother was adapted into a 1986 film, starring Sissy Spacek as Jessie and Anne Bancroft as Thelma.
