About Unscripted
Unscripted is TAP's speaker series featuring professionals in the arts, ranging from performers to musicians, writers, and filmmakers. In our intimate setting we come together to share an open, personal and sometimes emotional discussion between our guests, moderator, and audience members. The Unscripted series features multiple different categories, including the Speaker edition, the Music edition, and the Film edition.
The Music Editions
Rory Taillon
We were joined for an Unscripted: The Music Edition with Ottawa-based musician Rory Taillon!

Heavier than folk, but not quite rock, Rory took us on an emotional rollercoaster with a performance of explosive highs and devastating lows. Singing in choirs and choral groups in his youth, this classically trained vocalist has taken these experiences and combined them in a somber atmosphere of looping guitars and drums. After the performance, we sat down for a conversation with Rory hosted by TAP Director Sandra De Salvo.

We were joined for a special night of Unscripted: the Music Edition featuring London’s own award-winning harmonic folk trio The Pairs. After the performance we sat down with Noelle Frances Coughlin, Renée Coughlin, and Hillary Watson and engaged in an intimate conversation with the musicians to discuss their creative process, their working relationship as three songwriters and lead vocalists, and the projects the trio have in the works.
Our host for this session was Ryan Soulliere. Ryan is the associate producer for CBC London’s flagship show, London Morning. He also curates the very best music for the program, utilizing his community connections to shine a spotlight on homegrown talent.
The Pairs
Misha Bower
We were joined for a special night of Unscripted: The Music Edition featuring a new live show called Meetings by local musician and writer Misha Bower. A blend of music and storytelling, Meetings is set in a shifting support group context where Misha plays a series of characters confiding to their peers—the audience. For each character, she performed a monologue and song that crystalize a unique moment of personal disclosure. The song portion of the show featured accompaniment by Pete Hurst, a local sound technician who has put himself on the other side of the mixing desk to revisit his musical roots as an accompanying guitarist.
Audiences should know that Meetings highlights human journeys threaded with addiction, trauma and loss. It has a dynamic emotional tone that is automatically tender, but searches equally for vulnerability and the unexpected comedy so central to the art of coping.
The Unscripted conversation was hosted by Josh Lambier, Artistic Director of Words Festival and collaborative pillar in the London arts community.
